One becomes two!

Well its been almost 9 months since my last update...a very telling number.  What happens in 9 months?  Why this does...one becomes two!

 

Emma Marie joined our family on August 16th of this year.  Her big sister is absolutely in awe with her baby sister. Kisses and hugs are plentiful!

Catching Up!

Time always seems to get away from me!  I finally found the time to update my blog as I realized that there was something in the background causing the page to re-direct.  Never could figure out what it was exactly so I updated the whole background and said good bye to the pink that I had since the first day of setting this up.  Farewell....you won't exactly be missed by me! :-)

So Madison is now 10 months old.  She is a smiling crazy happy little bundle of energy and sunshine. 

I've spent some time the past few months working on Maddie's Felt Christmas Stocking...still not completed...hopefully in time for next year!  I never realized how intricate and how much work goes into these things!    I made Maddie and Easter Bunny hat and since then nothing.  Bought a sock monkey kit which is next up on the list!

Time flies by....

Let's see here.  Last blog post I had been married for a few months and it was 15 months ago.  Fast forward and has life changed!

 

We welcomed Madison Lynn into our lives on March 9th. She was 8 lbs 3 Oz and 19.5 inches long!

Life has been crazy busy trying to adjust the past 2 weeks but a great adventure into parenthood!  Sleep is a thing of the past as someone has her days and nights switched around slightly. 

 

After 3 days in the hospital we were released to come home, only to be sent back to the hospital the next day due to a Jaundice flare up to dangerously high levels.  She spent 2 days under the lights and her levels have come down to a manageable level.  We continue to monitor to ensure they stay at safe levels.

 

Beau has adjusted great to being a "big brother" and is already super protective of her and wanting to constantly check her out to make sure she is okay.

The Christmas Table

I must admit.  I have become addicted to Pinterest.  I have found some amazing inspiration and ideas on there.  The most recent helped me put together my table centerpiece for Christmas.

Last year I was gifted a gorgeous Christmas centerpiece to use.  With how big my table is though there was something missing.  Off to Pinterest I went!

 

I found a cute idea to take wine glasses,  fill with ornaments and top with a votive.  Voila!

I do not like the idea of having votive candles out solo so I switched it up.  I used tea lights in cute red containers I picked up in Europe and instead of ornaments I used glitter balls of varying sizes and jingle bells...this tied in nicely with our Christmas Party called Jingle Balls.

Here is the finished table which brought joy all season long!

We Tied the Knot!

Well we did it. The day was gorgeous and everything turned out beautifully!  The honeymoon in Mexico was rainy but a nice escape. 

 

Since getting back it had been a rush to get the house organized room by room.  The craft room is on the list with its plethora of yarn and books which need to be weeded out.  Will give y'all first dibs on the goods.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Countdown is on!

Oh goodness! Life has been absolutely nuts! Wedding preparations are in full swing...only 29 more days! This past year has gone by in the blink of an eye.

I have found time to work on a few stash busters...yarn foods, dish cloths and stroll working every now and then on the french doily and the star afghan.  Hopefully once the wedding is done I will find more motivation!

Honeymoon is planned...we are heading to Mexico and an all inclusive Secrets resort....it will be nice to relax and destress from the wedding chaos.

Beauregard has finally stopped growing at 100 pounds. He is sassy and spunky and has a personality like no other!  We had his hips xrayed for displacia and everything came up good to excellent which is a HUGE relief. We are still considering breeding him...need to figure out the next steps for that process, as well a consider getting a second generation our just taking a stud fee. Not sure my house would survive two huge puppies living in it.

Sorry for bring silent for so long....promise to write more often...and post wedding pictures!

Tis a super sunday for a superbowl!

Watching the game with friends...made a Ravens - 49ers Superbowl Cake. Marble cake, buttercream frosting...yummy!

Crafting does continue...working on a hat along with a few other small projects and if course still working on Steve's stocking....might be done by next Christmas lol

Final class!

Finished with the beginners level if wilton classes...here is my final masterpiece!  Thinking about taking another course, but with a new job and the wedding I do not know where I can find the time!

November catch up

December already? Missed a few days, but that was mainly due to travel and crazy work schedules once again. Went back to michigan for thanksgiving and had a great time. Made a birthday cake for Steve's brother Sam who just turned 7. Did the wilton pan spiderman and it turned out awesome! 

Sharing as well my Thanksgiving Turkey Cupcakes and ntt Wilton class #3 cupcakes which had some issues due to the frosting I choose to make.

Crafting you ask? Worked on some snowflakes as well as more poinsetta coasters for my Mom.

Wilton Decorting Class # 2

Well here it is!  Had the second Wilton Cake Class this past Wednesday.  We continued to learn new skills and iced a cake.  My design?  A Cupcake Cake!  It turned out super cute and had lots of compliments from everyone at work the next day - yay!

Went today back to JoAnns for a Cookie Blossom course with Steve and Zori who is visiting from Argentina.  Made Christmas Cookies for a Cookie Blossom - circles and gingerbread men which all turned out adorable!  Forgot to take pictures - oops!  Just picture perfect cookes and those were ours! lol

With Thanksgiving, we have an off week, but will be back the week after for our next lesson - cupcake decorating!  Fun!

Tis the season!

Slowly starting to get out and organize my christmas decorations. With every box I open I find memories of my grandmothers. This box contained some of my Dept 59 houses...this one bought by my Grandma as a christmas present back in 2002 right before I moved to Belgium. Oh what memories these boxes contain....since I did not decorate last year inside, Steve has no idea what is in store lol

Baked my cake tonight for tomorrows decorating lesson....looking forward to it!
