Sebastian Maniscalco adds 2nd comedy show in Syracuse amid high demand

Sebastian Maniscalco is adding a second standup comedy show in Syracuse amid high demand for his "Nobody Does This" tour dates.

Maniscalco will perform at the Landmark Theatre on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at 7 p.m., in addition to a previously announced show at the Landmark on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at 7 p.m.

Tickets for both shows are on sale now through Ticketmaster. Saturday's show is nearly sold out hours after going on sale to the public this morning, according to Ticketmaster's website. Tickets for Friday are available starting at $49.75, plus fees.

Maniscalco last performed in Syracuse in 2019, and demand was so high that he added two additional shows. His upcoming tour dates also include previously announced stops in Buffalo on Dec. 3, Rochester on Dec. 4 and Albany on Dec. 31.

The comedian, actor and best-selling author has been dubbed "one of the funniest comedians working stand-up today" by Esquire magazine and "the comedian's comedian" by People magazine. He won Billboard's inaugural Comedian of the Year award in 2018 and stars in the new Food Network series "Well Done with Sebastian Maniscalco Net Worth."

Maniscalco has released four standup specials on Comedy Central, three on Showtime, and "Stay Hungry" on Netflix. He also acted in "Green Book" and "The Irishman"; appeared on "The Tonight Show," "The Late Show," "Conan" and Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee"; and will play himself in the upcoming "About My Father" co-starring Robert De Niro.

Covid-19 protocols at the Landmark Theatre currently require masks at all times in theater, unless actively eating or drinking. Guests 12 and older are also required to provide evidence they are fully vaccinated or test negative for Covid 24-72 hours prior to entry.

Let's face it: in our increasingly tepid, polite and politically correct culture we need more people like Sebastian Maniscalco. Forever able to seize the moment, never failing to speak his mind, always telling it like it is, this is one man who isn't afraid to put it all out there. Yes, the Chicago-area born, Italian-immigrant-raised comedian behind wildly successful network specials including last year's "Sebastian Maniscalco: Why Would You Do That?," "What's Wrong With People?," and "Aren't You Embarrassed?" is that little voice within all our heads. The one we are too timid to unleash. Maniscalco is bearing the burden of our bizarre and head-scratching modern-day world. You can thank him later.

Make no mistake: Maniscalco's is a meticulous, hard-won comedic point of view.

Distinguished by the New York Times as having his "own kind of panache," Maniscalco is a success story resulting from years of hard work and a keen self-awareness of innate talent. A natural born-storyteller, one constantly regaling his family with madcap tales at the dinner table, Maniscalco moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and began pounding the pavement on his comedic quest. The tireless worker first made his name at the city's famed Comedy Store where he performed at every opportunity -- even if that meant rushing over to the club on a break from his waiter job at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

It's quite the understatement: Maniscalco now sits as one of the premier standup comedians. And a multi-faceted one at that: following a massive standup tour of theaters last year, the coming months are monumental ones for the 2016 Just for Laughs Stand Up Comedian of the Year. In addition to starring in his own wildly popular SiriusXM program, "The Pete and Sebastian Show," Maniscalco will make several major motion picture appearances in the coming year. Notably, a voice-over role in the animated feature "Nut Job 2," premiering this year; a role in the New Line Feature comedy "The House" starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler (directed by Andrew Cohen); and a turn in the independent drama "Cruise" directed by Rob Siegel and produced by Jeremy Renner.

Still, for Maniscalco, the work continues.

Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, rock band Chicago coming to Des Moines Civic Center

Des Moines Performing Arts announced two acts with roots in Chicagoland coming to Des Moines in mid-April of 2022 — comedian Sebastian Maniscalco and the rock band Chicago.

Maniscalco performs in Des Moines at 7 p.m. on April 14, 2022, at the Des Moines Civic Center, 221 Walnut St., as part of his ongoing "Nobody Does This" tour. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be found through desmoinesperformingarts.org.

Maniscalco is an Illinois-born, Italian-American comedian who spent seven years trying to make a splash on the L.A. comedy scene while waiting tables at a Four Seasons Hotel. After touring with actor Vince Vaughn for "The Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights" Maniscalco's star began to rise.

In 2018, the comedian also published a set of comedic essays under the title "Stay Hungry," which shared its name with the Netflix special he released a year later. Maniscalco also hosts an ongoing Food Network show "Well Done with Sebastian Maniscalco," which kicked off its second season on Nov. 16.

Beyond television and stand-up, Maniscalco has also had minor roles in Oscar-nominated films such as "The Irishman" and "Green Book." He's once again working with Robert De Niro on the film, "About My Father," which is based loosely on Maniscalco's own life.

Maniscalco's appearance at the Des Moines Civic Center came in the same press release announcing that rock band Chicago is also set to play the Civic Center next year.
