Hawaii Earthquake
What a thing to wake up to...I'd imagine it was the same feeling that you get when you are on one of the old waterbeds and someone jumps on it and you are tossed all over the place!
Crocheting...an escape from everyday life in Europe as I face the perils of yarn shopping in a foreign country and dealing with all of the crazy looks I get for crocheting & knitting on the public transportation system.

Thank goodness! I was just discussing it this morning with my husband saying how angry I would be if I were on a cruise or on vacation to Hawaii and that happened. Yes, angry is what I said.

Dad compared it to running over a rumble strip on the highway but numerous times harder. The ship shook violently and I thought we had run over small boat. When you consider the one we were on had about 3000 people on it and weighed a "gazillion" tons that was quite a "rumble strip". Just glad we were in Hilo on the opposite side of the island as to where the epicenter was and had some protection!! It would not have been fun if we had still been in port on Kona. This was just one more thing to make this trip memoriable along with the bicycle ride down the side of the volcano!
