I think I left you all hanging on where my big vacation is.....Sorry!
I am going to China for 10 days to visit my friend Zori! She has moved there for 6 months to work. I am so very excited! We are talking about possibly going to Beijing and Tokyo Japan as well......exciting times.
Anyone know of yarn shops in any of these locations? =) I'm going to try to take very little with me - its only for 10 days, so hopefully I can have room to buy souvenirs.
Here is a conversation I had with my 6 year old nephew Andrew.
Me: Guess where I'm going on vacation!
A: I don't know.
Me: I'm going to China!
A: CHINA!!!!!!!!
Me: Yup
A: That is sooooooo cool Aunt Kim
Me: Ummm...why is that cool?
A: Because they have lots of toys in China! You can bring me some when you come to visit in the summer.
lol - how he equated China right away with all of the toys that are made in China, i don't know, but connect the dots he did!
The dragon and the kitty purse were big hits with my co-workers children. ALthough the girl said right away "I want a green one too" lol I guess thats yet another Dragon on my to-do list of things to make.....I think I have 5 now to make - 2 green, 1 orange, 1 pink and 1 "Pink with a Red tail"

My brother lived in Shanghai for a few years and his wife is from there.
They have none of the stuff there we have that says "Made in China"-my SIL is here now and amazed at all the stuff from China here (LOL).
My SIL also bought me silk yarn and other yarn from a yarn shop in Shanghai, part of the open market thing. I'll try to get ahold of her to ask where, but she's kinda ditzy. Anyway, they had neat stuff and her parents have sent me yarn from there too-always interesting stuff.
Wow. That's too awesome!
You know HOW MUCH I wish I could be on that trip with you two, don´t you?
Kids are so funny and irresistible... ;)
Happy vacation in shanghai!
I emailed my brother about the locations-I assume he will forward the email to my SIL-but I don't know with him (he's really not very nice :P). I will let you know though.
When are you leaving?
You mentioned your foot size on a blog comment on my blog. My brother, when he lived in China, was considered "huge" compared to a typical Chinese man. Anyway, he used to fall down steps there all the time because his feet were too big for the width of the steps they had there-so be careful (LOL)
